After a heavy rain most of the place was flooded. Playground is nice with some seats in the shade. Bathrooms are clean enough and showers are clean. I can understand having no shade because of the location but the sites are crazy small. Its actually less of a campground and more of a "place to park your camper" if that makes sense. The beach is great lifeguards friendly and there are lots of them. As a "thing to do" Delaware seashore state park is 5 circles excellent. Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach are 5-10 min down the road if you're looking for shopping, restaurants or anything else. If you're looking for convenience for fishing, beach, clean bathhouses, and a good value - then this is great. If you're looking for trees, and wide open sites with acres at each campsite, then this campground isn't for you. Many other resort campgrounds are $20-$30 more a night. The bathhouses are clean, and close for convenience. The other campgrounds you have to drive to find a place to fish and drive to the beach (and take all that sand in your vehicle with you - oh and pay to park). We've stayed at other campgrounds, but none have a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, a 5 minutes walk to fishing, and an even shorter walk to a playground. What we found is that it is one of the best places to stay! Some of us fish, some like to relax on the beach, and we have kids so we also visit the playground. When we first pulled into the campground, out thought was ok, this is a big lot for campers. My family has been camping at Delaware Seashore State Park for about 20 years. If you're looking for a place to use your camper to stay very close to the beach, I definitely recommend this campground. We also loved the view of the bridge which is lit up at night. The convenience of ice on site was great. With full sun on our site each day, we had to buy a large bag of ice for $5 to keep our food cold. There is ice available to purchase at the entry station. There are feet washing stations along the walkway when leaving the beach. The walk to the ocean from our site was about 5 minutes, and was easy for my young children to make on their own feet. There are some benches along the inlet to sit and watch the beautiful view. The walkways from the beach to the campground are in great shape and are very wide. The playground is new and was great fun for my three kids. There are plenty of things we loved about this place. There were washers and dryers available at the bathhouse, as well as a soda bottle vending machine. Bring a large towel to wrap yourself in! There are LED emergency lights in the bathrooms, which seem to have been mistaken as cameras by another reviwer. This area is also in direct view of everyone walking in to the bathhouse to use the toilets or sinks. The changing area including an ample bench for your things is in a shared common area in front of the shower stalls. The shower area makes privacy difficult as only your shower stall is behind a curtain. It was wet throughout, not just in the shower area, but was not slippery. The floor throughout the bathroom was quite wet due to the way the showers drain. The bathrooms were certainly cleaned daily. That one was great for showering young kids after the beach, but the water pressure in the regular stalls was much better. It has 5 or 6 shower stalls, including a handicapped with a small bench and a hose shower head. It has 4 or 5 toilet stalls, including a handicapped with its own sink and hand dryer. The bathhouse is modern and nice looking. There are no trash cans, but there are dumpsters for camping garbage. Each site has a wooden picnic table next to the camper pad and enough space to play a game like cornhole, or ladder golf or put up a small tent next to the camper pad. We chose this campground for proximity to the beach, and we were not disappointed! The park is newly renovated. We just returned from a long weekend at the campground at DE Seashore State Park with our 3 young children and a pop-up camper.
